When Peyton was just hours old, he began having small seizures and he was brought to St. Louis Children's Hospital. Doctors found that Peyton's brain was malformed and he had hemiperisis(right sided weakness) For Peyton to survive, surgery had to be done or his brain and entire body would shut down. Doctors performed a hemispherectomy, removing the 1/3 left side of his brain and disconnected neurons in the remaining 2/3 of his brain. Peyton has not had one seizure since this amazing surgery and is doing great!
